What the terms mean
- Counterweight (CWT)
- A weight that balances the car in the shaft. It sits either beside the car (side counterweight) or behind it (rear counterweight), which changes the shaft width and depth needed.
- Overhead
- The clear height from the top landing floor to the underside of the shaft ceiling. It gives room for the car at its highest position and for the machine.
- Pit depth
- The distance from the bottom landing floor down to the shaft floor. It houses buffers and safety clearances.
- Max. travel
- The greatest height the car can travel from the lowest to the highest landing.
- Rated load
- The maximum load the car is designed to carry, in kilograms.
- Max. stops
- The most landings the configuration can serve.
How to read the dimensions
- All dimensions are in millimetres (mm), except travel in metres (m) and speed in metres per second (m/s).
- Shaft width and depth are the inside shaft size, measured between finished internal surfaces and free of obstruction.
- Car dimensions are inside the car. Door dimensions are the clear door opening.
- Overhead and pit depth change with speed, so choose the row that matches the speed you need.
- Capacities not listed here may be possible. They are assessed through design review, not offered as standard options.
Indicative planning information only. Dimensions and suitability must be confirmed through project-specific design review and approved shop drawings before construction.
